Who and What is YAD, you ask?

The Young Adult Division (YAD) of the United Jewish Federation (UJF) is dedicated to building an inclusive and connected community of young Jewish San Diegans (in their 20s, 30s, and early 40s), to promoting Jewish identity and to improving our local and global Jewish communities through fun and meaningful volunteer, social, educational and philanthropic activities.

Getting involved with YAD San Diego is an exciting way to meet other young professionals who share your values and interests. Join us and become part of the next generation of caring Jewish San Diegans who are making a difference in our community - and having a blast doing it! YAD has many avenues for you to get involved.

Shabbat Dinner Connections:  Bring your friends (and meet new ones) to regional potluck Shabbat Dinners.  Be a guest or be a host. Help organize!

Tzedakah Ball: This is one of the largest events held for young Jews in San Diego and you can help plan it! The evening of music, dance, and drinks with hundreds of other young Jewish adults is a great way to learn about Jews around the world as well as an opportunity to bring our community together for a night of partying!

Ben-Gurion Society (BGS): Be a part of this dynamic group and help plan BGS-exclusive events. Members of the Ben-Gurion Society are YAD donors, who make a $1,000 gift to the United Jewish Federation's Annual Campaign. Chairs - Jessica Effress and Dalya Rubanenko

3SIXTY: A new and innovative approach to giving for the YAD generation. It's an opportunity to care for your community, connect with young Jewish San Diegans and create a global impact. Members of 3SIXTY make a $360 minimum gift to the UJF Annual Campaign.
Chairs – Tinamarie Bernard-Eshel and Sharon Benedek

Campaign: Help raise the essential funds needed to assist Jews all over the world. Have fun and make a difference!
Chairs – Gayle Goldman and Danielle Shulman

YAD Marketing: Use your marketing smarts to help promote YAD. We need your help to spread the word to more San Diegans about how YAD helps grow our Jewish community not only through great social and educational events, but also through critical projects that help those in need, locally, nationally, in Israel and around the world.  If you've got experience in: marketing, PR, advertising, web, event planning - then this is the right committee for you!

Young Leadership Missions/Conferences:  Will you be among the nearly 3000 young Jewish professionals that participate in national conferences throughout the year?   Help make San Diego's participation in these conferences a great success!

Family Outreach: Make YAD even more family friendly by planning events for the young Jewish families in our community.
